Navratri Festival Association Manchester
Registered Charity No. 1125565

Aim

We are a charity who aims to bring communities together by organising and managing the annual Navratri Festival for the families and communities in the North West region of United Kingdom.

Background

The Navratri Festival Association held their first event in the mid 1980’s. Following this, the annual festival was held at various venues across Manchester, hosted by various Indian communities from across the North-West.

In 1993 a decision to jointly organise the Navratri Festival for the entire Indian Community of the region was taken. The event was held at Platt Fields Park in Manchester.

Since 1993, both the event and the organisation has grown from strength to strength with the support of the entire Indian Community, supporters and attendees, both young and old, who attend the festival every year.

Who are we?

Following years of successful Navratri celebrations, the organising committee chose to formally register with the charities commission with charity status being adopted in August 2008.

Today, the charity is run by dedicated committee members who meet throughout the year to plan celebrations that continue to build on the success of each passing year.

We are extremely thankful for all of our previous committee members and to our volunteers who dedicate their time each and every evening throughout the celebrations.
